Hotel Planaihof is the ideal base for beautiful hikes on the Planai. And in fact, many hiking paths lead directly past our hotel. In other words, you can begin your hike right outside our front door.

Planai Panorama Loop: Begins right outside our front door, taking roughly one hour to complete. Easy loop around the Planai summit, magnificent views, almost flat, also pram-friendly.
Hopsiland Path
(pram-friendly): The highest playground in Styria - right next to the Planaihof! This path takes around 45 min, not including lots and lots of playtime at the various play features along the way.

World Championship Path Planai: As you hike, discover a living history of ski racing! Your hike will lead past start houses, key features, and racing pistes, as you gradually drop down to the valley. Total time: about 3 hours.

From the Planai to Schladming: Path through forests and meadows, beautiful scenery guaranteed. Downhill, around 2.5 hours start to finish.
Up the Krahbergzinken: Right outside our front door, takes around 3 hours. Firstly along a section of the Panorama Loop, then via a trail that requires you to be surefooted, and have a head for heights. A popular destination for beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Planai High Trail to the Preintalerhütte: 2-day tour, 9.5 hours of time on trail. Glorious, challenging, high-alpine hike with secured passages, and including a ridgeline ascent - only for very experienced hikers!

Schladming is one of Austria's certified "Hiking Villages" and has been awarded the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality. Its network of hiking paths as well as the infrastructure are of exceptionally high quality.

The "Sommercard" (Summer Card) is available from the start of summer season until 30 September.

The "Herbstcard" (Autumn Card) is available from 01 October until season's end
