A
winter vacation doesn’t only happen on the ski slopes. Especially when the
weather doesn’t promise an “ideal” day of skiing, our region offerscountless other ways
to
enjoy winter at its most beautiful. Whether as a family or as a couple, a
horse-drawn sleigh ride through snow-covered forests has a special charm all
its own. Or how about a high-spirited sledding expedition?
When
was the last time you went ice-skating – or have you ever tried your hand at
curling alpine-style?
This winter is full of opportunities!
WINTER HOLIDAYS AWAY FROM THE PISTE

An outing to the mighty Dachstein Glacier is an adventure you won’t soon forget. With its “Glacier World,” the Dachstein is THE ultimate excursion destination in both summer and winter.
The Stairway to Heaven, Skywalk, Ice Palace, and the Stairway to Nothingness are not just curious names, but also unforgettable experiences you simply have to enjoy live and in person. A sunrise breakfast, for example, is one of those moments that will stay with you forever.

Many of us still remember how much fun it was sledding as a child. Kids love slithering down a hillside on a small plastic sled, though of course it’s even better if you use a real toboggan.
Tobogganing is a popular pastime in our region, which is why you’ll find many different runs with varying lengths and levels of difficulty. Night tobogganing, meanwhile, has its own unique charm – something you should definitely give a try.

On numerous winter hiking trails you can explore the region’s impressive mountain world, with or without snowshoes on your feet. The “Planai Winter Hiking Trail” begins right here at our hotel, while “Hopsi’s Winter Hiking Path” is just a short distance away. Various ski huts are also within walking distance, perfect for a leisurely afternoon refreshment stop.
A separate Winter Hiking Ticket allows non-skiers to ride multiple lifts for free.
